Magirus provides Security Management Systems (SMS) to help administrators manage and make their overall network security systems more efficient. These systems interface with the various monitoring tools and systems employed on the network and provide the “big picture”- enabling administrators to view all the events in the network in real-time and identify specific threats.

This is important as a typical network may register millions of events a day, generating thousands of alerts. Each alert must be consolidated and correlated against policies to determine different levels of threat. The SMS provides administrators with real-time “at a glance” dashboard information, including trending reports, performance graphs, etc. The goal is to determine the “real” or critical alerts requiring urgent attention and provide the ability to react across the network. In extreme cases this might lead to automated or administrator-led shut-down of parts of the network.
