Access control is the fist line of defence. By access control we mean the processes and means to restrict as well as grant access to personnel wishing to use the network.

Today’s modern enterprises have all manner of individuals wishing to access the network, from contractors and remote workers to mobile employees. It is therefore crucial that robust processes are in place to restrict, grant and track access.

Permission settings: comprehensive processes for granting access rights to bona fide users; permissions to not only access the network but also to determine what parts of the network an individual may access.

Authentication and authorisation: the means to authenticate and register users wanting to log onto the network – making sure that those wanting to access the network are who they say they are. We offer all manner of solutions to meet the security requirements of any given business. These range from Single Sign On (SSO) and password management solutions through to encrypted software keys, physical tokens, digital signatures and certificates.

Also, we provide data encryption solutions enabling folders and individual documents to be encrypted.

Additional services enable authentication to take place within the network at a protocol level. For example 802.1x authentication for securing wireless networks and devices, and RADIUS for embedded network devices such as routers, modem servers, switches, etc. Another protocol-layer solution is TACACS+ which provides access control for routers, network access servers and other networked computing devices via one or more centralised servers.

Audit and Accounting: Our audit and accounting tools enable administrators to see in real-time where individuals are going, what they are doing and accessing on the network. In this way unusual or unauthorised behaviour may be tracked and stopped.
